How To Be Selfish in a Positive Way

The word "Selfish" is normally defined as egocentric and putting ourselves before others. A lot of us see being selfish as negative but what if we could put a new twist on it? Let's break the word down into "Self" and "ish." Now it's not so bad. To me, “Self-ish” means self-love, self-acceptance, self-respect and self-care.

We have been conditioned to put other people first. But if we don't take care of ourselves, we won't have anything left to give. Let’s give ourselves permission to be “Self-ish.” Take little breaks throughout our days just for us.

When we practice self-care, we are showing ourselves love and respect. When we repeat this every day, it has the potential to bring more peace and balance to our lives. Let's embrace being "self-ish" in a positive way.
