How to Give Yourself Permission to Choose Joy
So many of us are overachievers and strive for perfection. Being stressed out trying to be a certain way does not bring joy. We need to give ourselves permission to let go of who we think we are supposed to be and just be.
When my daughter Casey came home for Christmas break this year, I noticed that she wasn’t her joyful self. We had a long conversation about school and what she loved and what stressed her out. I asked her to think about the things in her life that brought her joy and the things that brought her stress and frustration. She thought about it for a while and we talked again. After giving it some thought, she realized that she was putting undo pressure on herself.
Please give yourself permission to choose joy. Let go of the negativity so you can be you.
