"You Mean Walk Like a Sloth"

Last summer, my daughter and I went to see the musical “Beauty and the Beast” with my best friend and her 8 year old daughter. During intermission, at our local theatre, I was headed off to the ladies room when my best friend’s daughter said she had to go too. The restroom was around the corner and down the hall. Even though I could keep an eye on her if she ran ahead, I told her to walk slow like a turtle just like me. Without skipping a beat, she turned around and looked at me with the most honest face and said, “You mean walk like a sloth.” That’s exactly what I meant but I didn’t realize she knew anything about sloths at that age. Too funny. Now whenever I’m having a good walking day, I upgrade myself from sloth to turtle.
